Since there is a huge variety of sizes for blankets, here is a suggestion-list to gauge how many skeins of yarn you will need.

For the Chunky Blanket #7 Loom, the width of the loom is the width of your blanket.  You can use fewer pegs for a smaller blanket.

If the width of your loom for example 46" - 30 pegs will give you a blanket 46" wide

If  the width of your loom for example 36" - 24 pegs will give you a blanket 36" wide

If the width of your loom for example 64" - 42 pegs will give you a blanket 64" wide 

If the width of your loom is 78" - 51 pegs will give you a blanket 78" wide etc etc

Here are some standard size blankets, these are suggestions only for the number of skeins you will need.

30 x 50  - 4-5 skeins

36 x 50  - 5-6 skeins

46 x 60  - 7-8 skeins

64 x 70  - 10-11 skeins

78 x 78  - 12-14 skeins
